Brother Buddies

I'm already starting to love how my boys are in two groups- they each have a buddy and built-in best friend. It honestly seems like Shad has an abnormal affection for Benson- he's only 2 but he's obsessed with him and is always loving on him. Not once have I seen him be mean or aggressive. I'm so glad it worked out this way and that Heavenly Father knows what's best.

I came in to see the boys asleep like this. They have so much room yet chose to be super close?? Their room gets the hottest because of direct sunlight so they were all sticky too! ha!

A little later they were like this :)

Shaddie finally went #2 in the potty so he got to pick a prize. He chose 'biter-biter' jammies and even though Costco only had size 5 left, he thought he was the coolest and carried around the shorts that came with it all night.

I found a gift certificate to Olive Garden as I was cleaning things out and decided to use it!! Yes, I took 4 kids by myself to Olive Garden on a Saturday evening but they actually did okay! We went around 5 so it wasn't as busy and it was good food, they ate a ton and then I came home and put them right to bed- not bad for me!! Then I ate my leftovers while watching Criminal Minds and studying for my Stats final- win/win!!!

Today was our last Sunday in North Lake 4th Ward- we've made so many good friends and it's been a great ward to be apart of. I was most sad to say goodbye to my Sunday School class of 14-15 year olds. They are awesome and I'm really surprised at how much I love them and this calling. It's seriously one of my very favorite callings! We had to take a picture and Benson had to be in front since he's been our class mascot. :)

When I went in to check on if he was asleep (he likes to sleep by himself and not with TyLevi- I have no idea why!) I found him playing with his underwear on the phone charger. He looks up at me with this sheepish smile and says, 'Hi Mommy' and it makes me entire heart melt. :) This kid drives me crazy but is so dang sweet at times!

Wrapping up Utah Summer

So this is week 4 of flying solo around here and as much as we are anxious to have TJ back and to be out of the moving/showing/packing stage, it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. We've kept busy and adjusted and (besides one little emotional breakdown) just trooped along. Early bedtimes, an occasional Swig and eating our favorite Utah foods before we leave has also helped a lot. I'm actually looking forward to eating better, exercising again and getting on a normal schedule with school starting soon. We got an offer a week ago and accepted it last Monday- such a blessing that we've been fasting and praying for so hard. Closing date is set for August 26 so fingers crossed that everything continues to go through.
We've had a lot of fun at splash pads, being entertained by watching Benson eat limes, getting through church on my own, and taking lots of pictures together :)

I'm actually really proud of Ty- he's starting to be a really big help and does really well in sacrament meeting. I can usually count on him to help me make it through. Today he sang all 4 hymns word for word, wrote a thank you note to the Bishop, and read in the Friend while being very reverent. Then he took Shad to nursery and then him and Levi went to Primary together since Benson was tired and not having it. So nice to have such great helpers!! Love these boys even if a day of church has me exhausted!! :)

Shaddie with his scripture (to be like TyLevi- yes it's one word) and underwear- the two necessities in his little mind. So far- no accidents at church!!! Yahoo!

These past two Sundays we've had church movie night with popcorn in my bedroom since our DVD player is packed and we use the computer. They love it.

On Pioneer Day, Dallin ran his first marathon (well, it was day after since the 24th was a Sunday)!! It was amazing!! He actually did really, really well and was under 4 hours, which was his goal. As he ran by he was just smiling and being normal Dally boy. It was great to be there even if it was a little bit of a drive and early in the morning (that's why none of us have our hair done and we look homeless). We had our last showing that morning so I hurried and cleaned the house spotless and then just got us all out of it so it worked out great. So amazing to think how far Dallin has come these past 3 years!! Amy mentioned that 3 years ago her and my dad were looking at wheelchair accessible vans and now he's running a marathon- absolutely miraculous.
After we watched a little bit of the Days of '47 parade, got snow cones from some of the vendors and played on the really cool playground. That night we had a BBQ with the Ellis' so it was a great day.

A Hendriksen family party! The boys got to sleep over with their cousins that night too. They had a blast and Ruth said they didn't go to sleep until midnight! And of course they still woke up at 6 am the next morning. So later that afternoon, Ty's head was bobbing at the table and he fell asleep around 4:30 pm. Levi and Shad were out by 5 pm and they all slept clear until the next morning!

Seven Peaks

This past week we've been saying goodbye and playing with friends and family before we leave. We met up with KiLeigh and her kids at Seven Peaks and lasted almost all day there! We were both surprised they all did so well! They played their little hearts out and were so exhausted that night- it was awesome and so good for these cousins to have time together and make memories. I love hanging out with Ki too so it was great. My boys loved having older cousins around too- it's fun to see them interact and be like Porter and Payson. :)

Porter- 10 (almost)
Payson- 8
Ty- 6
Ollie- 5
Levi- 5
Shad- 2
Olyn- 2
Benson- 7 months

Ty was pretty scared to go on this slide with the mats but he saw me and Levi do it together so he was braved and did it- and LOVED it. He's starting to get a little more daring and adventurous (for his standards) and it's so good for him to take chances and realize it's okay and even fun. :)

I met up with several of my Wisconsin sister missionaries last week so we could hang out one last time- it was so great to see them all! Sarah Gibbons Chapman, Kristin Johnson Fuhriman, Andrea Wiser Louder, Vanae Nielsen Keiser, Hailey Hood Jones and Kelli Klinger. We had 15 kids between us all and it was lunch time at Chick-fil-A so you can imagine the chaos but I'm so glad it worked out and that everyone made the effort to come! Love these ladies.

The only kids we could convince to come over for a picture and the best we could get- ha!

Benson was sick and up all night last Friday and Ginger and I were supposed to take the boys to Hang Time after we had such a great time a while ago. I cancelled on her and of course, she comes to my house, picks up my 3 older boys (including a potty training 2 year old :/) and not only takes them all to Hang Time for two hours but then feeds them lunch and takes them to play at her house until I come get them later on and serves us all dinner. It was an absolute lifesaver and exactly what I needed to get through the remaining time until TJ comes back. I'm so grateful for her and all that she does to continuously serve our family!! It had been 3 weeks straight of 24/7 kids and so this little break was so needed and completely rejuvenated me. We LOVE Aunt Ginger!

Our HOA had a water party day with giant bounce houses and water slides- these boys had a blast and loved playing with Aiden and Liam. We're going to miss the Ellis' so much!!!
