On July 26th we officially became homeowners! We now own a house in Pleasant Grove! It took a little while for the selling bank to finally get all the paperwork together, which was a little frustrating but it's finally all done. That same day TJ went right to work. He's worked so hard, I'm so appreciative of all his efforts. He's pulled up all the old carpet, repainted the entire house and is helping to install the new carpet- a LOT of work! My sister and lots of TJ's family have also helped, especially his parents- THANK YOU!!
Levi also helped by sleeping for several hours one day so I could help TJ a little.
We're excited to move in this week!

Lifetime goals

It's not often that I have been able to go to Priesthood for two reasons; 1) we've been in Primary pretty such since we've been married and, 2) Ty does not sit still and wants to wander the halls.  This past Sunday I was able to go for about five minutes and got a handout that will forever change my outlook on life and what I need to do.  It was titled Setting Correct Priorities for a Priesthood Interview with The Savior.  I will type word for word now.  The following six points will be the base of all and any goals I set.  I feel it is important to share this.

Statement by President David O. McKay given in June 1965 in President McKay's Hotel Utah apartment to a group of brethren in the Physical Facilities Department of the Church.

While engaged in explaining to them the importance of the work they were engaged in, he paused and told them the following:

"Let me assure you, Brethren, that some day you will have a Personal Priesthood interview with the Savior, Himself.  If you are interested, I will tell you the order in which He will ask you to account for your earthly responsibilities.

First, He will request an accountability report about your relationship with your wife.  Have you actively been engaged in making her happy and ensuring that her needs have been met as an individual?

Second, He will want an accountability report about each of your children individually.  He will not attempt to have this for simply a family stewardship, but will request information about information about your relationship to each and every child.

Third, He will want to know what you personally have done with the talents you were given in the pre-existence.

Fourth, He will want a summary of your activity in your church assignments.  He will not be necessarily interested in what assignments you have had, for in His eyes the Home Teacher and a Mission President are equals, but He will request a summary of how you have been of service to your fellowmen in your church assignments.

Fifth, He will have no interest in how you earned your living, but if you were honest in all your dealings,

Sixth, He will ask for an accountability on what you have done to contribute in a positive manner to your community, state, country, and the world."

Birth Announcement

So I decided instead of spending lots of money on announcements (I'm old fashioned, I guess and like sending things like that out snail mail!) and stamps that I'd just buy a few to send to mostly family and then post it here and facebook. So.... don't be offended if you don't get one in the mail is my point! :)

2 Weeks

Kinda the same picture twice.... he just looked so cute and peaceful sleeping. :)
He still has his crazy stick-up hair.

I already notice changes in him- he looks different than when he was a brand-new newborn. It's so crazy how fast they really do change and grow up.

Two Weeks Old
Height: 20 1/4 inches (10-25% percentile)
Weight: 7 lbs, 6 oz (10-25% percentile)
Head: 35.8 cm (10-25% percentile)

Poor Levi Boy got circumsized today. The doctor was so amazed that he didn't even cry during the actual procedure! I guess he just wanted to wait until he got home and could snuggle with his mommy. He's gaining weight well and is doing great!

Provo Canyon

I know TJ already posted the little video he made of this day trip we took but videos don't work when I print my blog to a book at the end of the year so just to warn you, these are all the same pictures!
Little Levi- 10 days old
Ty wouldn't look at the camera- ugh. But I LOVE my new double jogging stroller! I even walked two miles- it was awesome! I'm so excited to get all this weight off- blah.
Ty absolutely loved playing in the water- he was completely soaked by the end and standing in a giant puddle of water.

Naked boy! Well, almost. Diaper's still there but clothes were way too soaked to stay on.
Haha, Levi's little chicken legs hanging out. He looks like an old man in this picture. :)

Poor Levi :)

Another attempted photo shoot with their matching outfits. Very difficult to get a good picture and with this one you can see TJ in the corner and his arms because of Ty's next move.....
Poor Baby Levi- the things he tolerates because of his big brother already. Ty just likes to grab Levi's face and reach down and give him a love. He really isn't trying to be mean, just being a typical 1 year old.
But don't worry, Levi is still alive and well and breathing.

He is such a GOOD BABY! I am shocked at the difference between these two boys already. I just assumed all babies were like Ty but man, am I wrong! I know it's only been a week but these boys are night and day difference already. Ty was such a high maintenance baby. He had to be held all the time and was born with sleep issues to begin with. Levi is so content to eat and sleep for hours at a time in his bassinet or vibrating chair and hardly ever cries- for reals. We forget he's around all the time and I frequently go check and make sure he's still breathing. Even at night he'll sleep for a good 4 hours straight. I remember with Ty I was elated if he slept at least 2 hours at a time. :)

Some of Ty's favorite foods include black beans and rice. Somehow, whenever he eats black beans, he gets a very nice gotee all around his mouth. :)
My sister-in-law, Dezi, came down this past week with her 5 boys to meet Levi. We went to the mall to see Aunt Ginger on her lunch break. We were quite the sight with all 7 boys. We should've taken this picture with the two baby car seats we were holding with Levi and Brock inside for the full effect.
Such a sweet baby! I can't imagine our life without Levi now. And only one kid- what a piece of cake!! haha. Life is all about change of perspectives I guess.

My mom flew back home yesterday. She flew in from Tucson the day Levi was born and was such a huge help!! I loved having her here and appreciated the time she took from her busy life and being away from the rest of my siblings still at home.
The best part of all was how much Ty fell in LOVE with her! How could you resist someone that gave you constant attention, would buy you snow cones, ice cream, books, slushies, and cookies, and take you on 3 hour walks outside? Levi is a piece of cake, it's Ty that's a little bit of a handful!!! So having her here to completely take care of him made bringing home Levi EASY! Thanks Mom! Love you! And so does Ty and Levi!

Adjusting to Life

I know, I know, I keep posting a million pictures but it's really just for my scrapbook/journal. I'm on maternity leave- what else can I do with myself besides take pictures all day long? :)

People keep asking how Ty is doing.... well, he's still adjusting to not having our attention all to himself, all day long. I think he might be starting to understand that Levi is a person and not something to be thrown off the couch, stepped on, kicked like a soccer ball or see how much hair he can grab in one swipe. I have to be very careful about where I leave Levi- he must be completely out of the reach of Ty. He's starting not to grab as hard and occasionally will reach out to give loves or put his face to his cheek. I'm sure over time it'll get better.

One funny thing is that Ty has never used a pacifier. He's seen them in other babies and will pull it out and try to shove it in their mouths whenever he gets the chance so he kinda gets the concept that is goes in the mouth but has no idea about the comfort part. Since Levi's been here he'll try to grab his pacifier whenever he can and will chew on it, suck on the back or play with it in his teeth- it's pretty funny since he really doesn't know what it's really is used for. He just thinks it's a fun toy that feels funny in his mouth.

Ty's new favorite thing to climb is Levi's bassinet. Levi is such a good baby- Ty will climb up, rock it back and forth, yell and be so loud and Levi just keeps sleeping.

Now that Levi is here, I can't imagine life without him- and it's only been 5 days! I never thought I could love something more than Ty and I've always heard people say that but now I totally get it. I also was always worried that I'd love Ty more than this new baby and would have crazy dreams about it. But that's totally gone. It's like a love that's totally equal between the two but just multiples ten fold.
Really, it's an amazing thing.
There, that's my mushy talk for the day. I'm done now. :)
