Happy B-day, Jess (and Festus)!

Yes, yes, that would be a donkey on the couch.
3 day old Festus
Festus holding a sign that says, "Happy Birthday Jessie!"

My sister, Jessie, came to live with us for the summer! She's only been here a week but it's been so fun to have her here and for her to help with Ty. She loves that little boy and I'm hoping he'll just start to love her and they'll develop a really close relationship that they'll always have. Jessie spent her freshman year last year at Eastern Arizona College where she played softball on scholarship. She really enjoyed it but decided to come up here to BYU and focus on her schooling more, which I think is good. Her 19th birthday was on Saturday so it was fun to celebrate.
P.S. Those are cut up strawberries on her jello cake- they look weird in the pic.

Also, you are probably wondering why a donkey is holding a birthday sign in the first picture... and most of all why a donkey is on my parent's couch! Well, to make a looong story short that is the new pride and joy of my family back home in AZ. That is Festus- yes, that is his name. For all you older folk, you might remember that that was the name of the donkey on Gunsmoke (an old western TV show, I guess)?? My dad thought he was a genius for naming him that and is so proud. But this isn't just a regular donkey- this is a miniature donkey. Imagine the donkey on Shrek and that's exactly his size! And he is more like a dog than a donkey. He follows my family everywhere, trotting behind them everywhere they go. As much as I hate to say this (because we sound like total hicks and rednecks) he even hangs out INSIDE the house and is pretty much potty-trained! He is about 3 weeks old and his mom died so the owners gave him to my dad (my dad's the local vet). My siblings bottle feed him and love him to death. My mom even got a small saddle and wants to teach Ty how to ride him when we go down to visit after the baby's born. I'm pretty sure they're the same size! I've grown up with unusual and unique pets my whole life (llamas, talking parrots, boa constrictors, tarantulas, sugar gliders, king snakes... I don't think I can list or think of them all but you get the idea) but this one seems to be extreme! He literally is part of the family now, complete with birthday wishes and everything!

New Baby's Room

My sister moved in with us for the summer last week so we had a bit of rearranging to do. This is Ty's corner in the other room. :)

I found this little Noah's ark set super discounted and thought it was so cute! I think we're pretty set for this little guy to come- I haven't really bought anything since I have everything for a little boy left over from Ty. I have been stocking up on little, tiny diapers- I forget how small they are!! Besides that, I guess the only thing we need is the little baby himself!!
I'm starting to get to that uncomfortable, in the bathroom every 2 hours, back is killing me 24/7, I-don't-care-just-get-this-baby-out stage. It's a little crazy because I was never this big with Ty- so often as I look in the mirror I do a double-take because I don't recognize myself! But we're getting so close, another month and it'll be over. I'm sooooo excited to not be pregnant!!! I feel like I've been preg for 2 years straight- but enough complaining... we're sure excited for this baby to get here and I've been really, really blessed so far to be able to handle an infant/toddler, working full time and a definitely-could-be-worse pregnancy. Now, just to endure to the end for now and it'll all be worth it!!! :)

We went out to eat with two of my mission companions, Trina (Lee) Weaver and Kristin Johnson (soon to be.... a new last name! :) It was fun to see them and meet Kristin's fiance. They get married in about 2 weeks and Trina is due with their first baby, a little girl, in about a week or so. It brought back lots of memories since we were in a threesome my last transfer in Adams-Friendship. Here I am at about 34 weeks.

Cole's Graduation

Sitting in the big kid's chairs
Peyton and Coley
Even though the lighting is bad, I just think this picture is so cute! Trey and Ty are staring to be good friends- it's so cute to watch! They are about 10 months apart- Trey is almost 2- and usually Ty is beating Trey up while Trey is saying in his cute little quiet voice, "Ty Ty!!" :) But here Trey is giving Ty a bite of his cookie. I really hope they'll always be good little buddies as they grow up.
We went to our nephew's little kindergarten graduation! It was so cute! He's the one in the front row with the orange shirt. It was so cute- as we walked in they were singing a song and he couldn't help but wave. :)
Silly boy- he kept smiling goofy! Congrats Cole!

Favorite Activity

Whenever the child safety lock thingy is off for 2 seconds, Ty makes a bee-line for the tupperware drawer. Occasionally I give in and let him empty the entire drawer. That's when I agree with TJ that yes, we do have too many tupperwares. :)

Ty sure enjoyed his watermelon. I only took his shirt off when he was eating since I didn't want the watermelon juice to stain- I promise I dress my kid, especially out in the sun all day!

This past weekend we had a big get-together with TJ's mom's side of the family- the Bayons. One of things that I love most about this side of the family is the culture and diversity. TJ's mom came to the US when she was 14 from Colombia, along with the rest of her family. I absolutely LOVE eating Colombian food, learning about their culture and incorporating these things into our own family. While we were all together we played a game my mother-in-law grew up playing called Ponchados- so fun! When TJ and my in-laws were explaining it to me I thought it sounded brutal and didn't want to play but it was so fun and yes, even at 8 1/2 months pregnant, I totally joined in! :)
You play it on a baseball field and dig small holes where home plate would be. Every player has their own hole and everyone takes a turn rolling a ball (we used a tennis ball) and who's ever hole it lands it, they pick the ball up (while everyone else runs around the bases) and try to tag someone with the ball by throwing it at them. Then whoever gets tagged has to throw the ball at someone else and everyone tries to make it home without getting hit with the ball. The loser gets a rock in their hole and when they get 3 rocks.... (the brutal part :) every one gets to throw the ball at them while they stand against the fence on home plate. :) Really, it's not as bad as it sounds and we played for hours!
I admit, a few times I thought I might put myself into labor with all the running but it was good for me! (I haven't been very good at working out this time around.) We got some sun too but was surprised when even Ty tanned a little- what a good mom I am.
My sister Jessie moved into town this past week so it was fun having her around too!
I didn't get very good pictures and not really any of Ponchados but that just means we'll have to do it again (when Ginger and I aren't preg so we can kick booty!!). Haha

Smiley Ty Ty

I think a banana is on his front tooth- haha.
Goofy teeth!! If these are what his permanent teeth look like.... braces!! haha

These are just some random pictures of Ty smiling and in a good mood- all when he's eating. Food makes him happy- takes after his momma. haha.

32 Weeks

Well, it's been a while since any preg pics so here they are. 8 months- sheesh. I can honestly say this pregnancy is flying by waaaay too fast. I have officially reached my delivery weight that I was at with Ty- and the real weight gain hasn't even started! I've always heard people say you get so much bigger, so much faster after the first one- well, I'm a firm believer in that one. However, I could definitely eat a more salads instead.... oh well, maybe next time. :)

At the Zoo!

(Gross- my super fat pregnancy arms. Look at Ty's face and not my chubs please)

He wouldn't take his eyes off the tigers.

At first he was scared to sit on the zebra on the carousel because he had just been frightened by the giant dinosaurs that moved and roared but once it started going, he loved it!
He's been traumatized by dinosaurs now.
Watching the elephants.

Riding the zoo train

So this was one of the dinosaurs that moved and roared- they were really cool and looked so real! It looked just like Jurassic Park but Ty was terrified! He jumped a foot when it roared and burst into tears.
Scary dinosaurs!!
Tired out after a long day at the zoo. Life is complete with your sippy cup, cookie, and diapers as a head rest.
We got super close the giraffes!

Today we went to the Hogel Zoo in Salt Lake. It was the first Saturday in a very long time that we had completely open and the weather was absolutely gorgeous so we had to do something fun and outside. I kept thinking of all my Arizona friends and how they would die for this weather- 75 degrees, cloudy with a light breeze blowing. Anyways, Ty really liked the zoo and seeing all the animals. Some were a little scary- like the dinosaurs they had on display- so hopefully he's not traumatized for life!
