The Holidays are Here!!

These are the stockings my grandma and I made together. I didn't put names on them yet since we're not exactly sure what we're naming the baby and I feel weird putting Mom and Dad on TJ's and mine (but years down the road it might be weird to have TJ and Tara on them when we have a bunch of kids- I know, what a dillemia.) My mom made them for my brothers and sisters and I so it's kinda fun to continue the tradition.

Our first Christmas tree!!! It was fun putting it up together. TJ was like a little 5 year kid; he was so excited. He had to have Christmas music playing in the background and the camera out.

Thanksgiving in Arizona! Tanner, my little 7 year old brother, had fun hiking Picacho Peak.

Since I'm working all during Christmas this year, we decided to go home to Arizona during Thanksgiving for about a week to spend some time with my family- it was so fun! We hiked Pichaho Peak, something that I wanted TJ to do since that was something I had grown up doing with my family many times and it's a pretty intense hike! Usually I race my brothers to the top and wait for everyone else to finally make it to the top- haha, not this year! It completely threw me by surprise by how limited your body really is when you're pregnant! I was absolutely exhausted after the 4 hours of hiking!! It was really fun but during it, I vowed to never do this again while pregant! :)
I love how much fun TJ is with my family. He fits in so well and the whole family loves him, especially my siblings. Tanner and him made a giant solar system project out of styrafoam balls, helped Jessie with her economic homework, read with Janae, went to a few football and softball games- they kept him busy! The whole family also went to the movies one night- we saw The Blind Side and it was so good!! Totally recommend it. One of my aunt's neighbors gave us a really nice Eddie Bauer bassinette, my mom gave us a crib they had, and for my Christmas present my mom and I went shopping for the all the crib bedding and accessories, so needless to say, the ride home was a little cramped! I also got really car sick and threw up all over- it was a LONG drive home, haha! Poor TJ drove the whole time and never complained once! He even gave me his (clean) socks to use to clean up since we didn't have any paper towels or anything. :) Maybe some day we can afford to fly home in an hour instead of 11 hours in the car! haha jk, it really wasn't that bad.

Oh boy!!

Well, today was the day! We found out that we're having a little boy! What a neat experience!! We were both way excited, kinda nervous but the ultrasound lady was very nice and good at her job. The room was way neat since it had a giant big screen TV in front of us so we didn't have to stare at the tiny ultrasound screen and try to make out the fuzzy black and white. It was easy to see him (well maybe a little easier for me than TJ- I used to work with ultrasounds) and the very first thing we saw was his little hand spread out and all five fingers- it was like he was waving to us! I'm annoyed though because I have this nice printer that has all these features on it and I can't even figure out how to use the scanner part. I'll have TJ do it when he gets home so you can see him. He was laying down on his belly so we have 4 pictures- one of his whole body but mostly you can see the little spine, one of his little arm (I'm sure he's trying to flex, typical boy), one of his cute tiny head, and then what she labled his "boy stuff." It took her a little while to be able to tell though because he kept opening and closing his legs- she said he put on quite a show! Neither one of us really cared that much what it was, however, the first 3 months I was convinced it was a girl. But definately a way fun surprise finding out! We sure love our little man already!!

One Year From When We Met

One year ago from today Tara and I met. I love telling the story on how we met and I love hearing Tara tell it too. She had met my sister Mandie I think earlier in the week and Mandie wanted us to met. Tara had not lived in Utah too long. Mandie told Tara that she would not tell me that she wanted us to met. A big group of friends were going to the Real Salt Lake game. We were all going out to eat at TGIFs before the game. Mandie had called me earlier that day (she called when I was making the streamers with Vannessa to throw on the field - see picture below) She told me that she was going to bring a friend and she wanted me to at least just say hi. If I wanted to do anything more that was up to me. I have to add this because Tara will not let me tell the story otherwise. I had a friend that I was going to the game with. It wasn't really a date because we both paid for ourselves, but at the end of the night I was sitting by Tara and doing everything I could to talk to her. This year has gone by fast but has been the best year in my life so far! It is only going to get better as we start our family. I feel SO lucky to be married to Tara. She makes me better in so many ways! She is truly the better half.

This is the night that we met. Notice where Tara and I are. We just seemed to end up by each other.

This is the most recent game we went to. Tara loves watching soccer with me and especially going to games. This game was the first round of the playoffs against Columbus Crew. RSL won 1-0.

Check out all the streamers!! That was SO much fun! We made all those and passed them out so everyone could throw them! It was awesome!

The Joys of Pregnancy!

So after a doctor's appointment yesterday that showed I had LOST a couple of pounds ( I do NOT know how that's possible since I eat so much all the time and it's not always healthy, it's at odd times of the day and night, and I exercise about 1/4 of what I used to do) I decided to really take more pleasure in eating. I definately have so far but always with the post-pregnancy weight worry in the back of my mind. :) I've experienced too many years of my mom waking up at unhumanly (is that a word?) times of the morning to exercise for 2 hrs or watching her load up the jogging stroller with snacks and books and games with Jordan and Janae screaming and crying while strapping newborn Tanner on the front pack to "walk" her 7.1 miles to the dairy and back in the Arizona heat (her walk is a normal person's jog, I'm serious! But that's how she lost 70 lbs in 6 mo. after Tanner! It's hard to imagine my mom hitting 200 lbs the last week before he was born!). But after losing weight doing the opposite of what I've done my whole entire life, I've realized I need to enjoy this more, especially since this 2nd trimester is definately waaaay better and it won't be like this after the baby's here!!! So this morning I got up and fixed what I haven't eaten in years- bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns. Mulitply this exact meal x3 serving sizes and this is what the typical breakfast meal would be each morning before early morning seminary for my two brothers, Devin and Dallin. I would walk pleasantly into the kitchen at 5 am and very politely and sweetly say, "I can't eat this- thanks a lot. This'll make me so fat- you stupid boys can eat whatever you want. It's not fair!" as my mom would hand me my healthy smoothie or Grape Nuts with Skim milk that she made just for me, without saying a word to her sweet and loving teenage daughter. My mom sure put up a lot with me, especially when she was 40 years old and pregnant with kid #9 as well as an extremely delightlyful, pleasant 16 year old daughter at the same time who couldn't be more embarrassed of her and her current "condition." Oh the memories! With this new experience in my life right now, I am so grateful to my mom and all that she sacrificed for us kids. She's an amazing lady and I'm glad I can still continue to learn so much from her in every stage of my life!

Tag: Me and Him

What are your middle names? Jo and his is Jacob- hence the TJ squared. :)

How long have you been together? Together, hmm... we met almost a year ago and have been married 5 months. Time goes by fast!

How long did you know each other before you started dating? Ummm....not very long! We never really "decided" to date, it just kinda happened.

Who asked who out? Well, he did technically but his sister Mandie introduced us. We all went to a Real Salt Lake soccer game but as I always mention, he already had a date. But he invited me over for Sunday dinner the next day and then to a Utah Jazz game on Monday night (but forgot to feed me, might I add. :) haha-I've forgiven him. Besides, I didn't even notice!

Whose siblings do you see the most? His since his family lives close by. We're going to visit my family for Thanksgiving and I can't wait! He fits into my family so well, it's really a lot of fun when we visit and my brothers and sisters get so excited.

Do you have any children together? We have one that's currently the size of a peach! (Or so my pregnancy book tells me.)

What about pets? Nope. Not while we live in my in-laws condo! haha. I'm a vet's daughter so I grew up with lots of animals, espeically dogs. So eventually once we have a house and some land, get a dog. I love pugs especially. :)

Did you go to the same school? No, I'm an Arizona girl. TJ goes to UVU and I went to ASU.

Who is the most sensitive? Hmm...I'm not sure. Neither one of us is super emotional but I tell TJ all the time he's the girl in our relationship. He's definately more mushy than me.

Where is the furthest you have ever traveled as a couple? Hawaii.

Who has the worst temper? Another hard one.... I guess me cause TJ never gets mad.

Who does the cooking? It used to be me before the pregnancy. Now when I come home from work at 7pm I'm exhausted and TJ will usually have already eaten some pathetic meal cause I don't feed him well and I'll just have a snack. He's so good about cooking and will often make breakfast on the weekends I don't work.

Who is more social? I think we're both pretty equal. TJ is good at being in a group settings and talking to people. I guess it depends on the group of people we're with.

Who is the neat freak? Once again, it's gotta be equal. Well, now with this pregnancy it's probably TJ a little more cause I'm so lazy.

Who is the most stubborn? Me. He's so easy-going.

Who hogs the bed? Definately me!! TJ's lucky to have a part of the sheet by morning.

Where was your first date? Let me remind TJ since he got this WRONG recently. We went to Tempanyaki's for dinner and then walked around Daybreak lakes and park. It was really fun to just talk all night. It was a little cold and he even had gloves for me to wear but was too chicken to hold my hand to keep them warm. :) At the end of the night he gave me a Jon Schmidt CD since we planned on going to his Christmas concert the next week. Cute huh!

Who has the bigger family? 9 kids in mine, 6 in his. Both pretty big and we love it!

Do you get flowers often? No- too expensive and they die. :)

Who eats more? TJ but I'm starting to be more of a competitor! I get full faster but eat more meals throughout the day.

Who sings better? Sorry TJ but probably me! And I'm pretty bad myself! haha.

Who does the laundry? Once again, used to be me. But definately not anymore! Thanks TJ!

Who is better with the computer? TJ for sure.

Who drives when you are together? TJ. That's the man's job. :) But I'm a better driver. jk.

Who picks where you go to dinner? We agree pretty easily. Except when I want Red Lobster. haha.

Who is the first one to admit when they are wrong? I'm definitely the first to admit when TJ is wrong. :) jk- we're both pretty willing actually.

Who wears the pants in the relationship? Isn't it always the woman? jk. Again, equal.

Who eats more sweets? Used to be me but right now all of that makes me nauseous.

Where do you eat out most as a couple? We like Cafe Rio, Gloria's Little Italy, and any mexican food. Oh and we love Colombian food too at our favorite Colombian mom's house. :)

Who wakes up earlier? TJ for sure. I'm a lazy bum now.

What's your best day together? We have a lot but probably when we were in Hawaii.

Where did you honeymoon? went on a cruise but the stupid swine flu closed the mexican port so we only stopped in Catalina Island. It was still fun though.

Favorite date night? Just hanging out with TJ and eating good food and no homework or work!

Favorite TV show to watch together? The Biggest Loser and the Office!

Carving Pumpkins!!

So I LOVE Halloween- I think it's because it's the start of all the other fun holidays at the end of the year..... or maybe because I had a mom that went ALL OUT for all holidays, especially Halloween. Our favorite thing to do was get out the halloween box so we could decorate the house. It'd be covered with scary spiders and spider webs, ghosts and goblins. For years on one wall of the house, she had all 9 of us kid's pictures all in a row all at 3 months. She'd cover those pictures up with a picture of Dracula, a werewolf, a witch, etc. We'd laugh and laugh over who was who. We'd also choose what we wanted to be months before and my mom would make all our costumes!! They were pretty awesome costumes too! We'd always win the costume contests! haha. So maybe that's why I love Halloween- it reminds of my childhood. But whatever the reason, I told TJ we were going to carve pumpkins since Halloween's getting closer. It ended up being a lot of fun! I had the day off from work and TJ had school off for fall break. We even roasted the pumpkins seeds too!

Baby Update!!

So yesterday I had my first official doctor's appointment. I had one when I first found out but this was the first time I met with the doctor. I really like my OB, Dr. Gourley. He seems like a good guy, has a good bedside manner and a people-person. He's the only doctor in his practice which I wanted so that I could see him everytime and he could get to know me and be there for the delivery. He was able to find a very distinct and loud heartbeat which was amazing to hear! So weird to think that is a baby inside and going to be a real human being!! I go back for my next check-up the beginning of November but the most exciting part is that we're scheduled for what they call a gender-check ultrasound on November 17th!! My doctor does them starting at 16 weeks so in a little over a month we'll know what we're having!! We're definitely way excited to find out. Hopefully the little baby cooperates and we'll be able to tell. I'll have the full medical ultrasound at 20 weeks, which'll be right before Christmas. I also decided, based on his opinion and other research I've done, to have both the seasonal flu shot and the swine flu vaccine considering I'm high risk, work in a hospital and will mostly likely be exposed multiple times. I went to a Critical Care Conference this past week and one of the lectures was on Trauma and Pregnancy- that was enough to convince me! It'll be interesting to see what happens.... but I suppose you do all that you can do and just hope and pray for the best! Not exactly the most convenient time to be pregnant but we're all the more grateful things are going so well so far. I can still wear all my same clothes but I definately can tell there's a small little bump there. Goodbye flat stomach! :) jk. I threw up randomly last week one morning before going to work and this week when we were at the temple I sat there the whole entire time praying I wouldn't puke in the middle of it. It made me wonder all the crazy things that the workers deal with during sessions. But TJ bought me a chimichanga after it for enduring to the end. :) I crave the weirdest foods. What's even weirder is that I don't crave any sweets- no ice cream, cake, chocolate, candy, pies, cookies- they all make me gag. Most of all though is peanut butter. My favorite craving is Cafe Rio, Bahio, or Einstein Bagles with pumpkin cream cheese. :) At least I'm getting closer and closer to the end of this first trimester and then hopefully this nausea and exhaustion will lessen. But I don't care how good I feel as long as this baby comes out healthy!! :) I worry everyday I go to work- hospitals are the very LAST place I would ever take a baby! But Baby Emma or ______ (we don't have a boy's name yet) is stuck with me for the next 30 weeks and that means hanging out at the hospital 40+ hours a week! Well I'm going to end this novel for now- sorry it's so long!

First Flowers to Tara

So the other day I borrowed Tara's laptop case and I found something in it. Probably a month after I met Tara I sent her some flowers to work. I think we probably had gone like on 3 or maybe 4 dates so we just started to date. The note with the flowers said,

I just want to let you know how happy I am to
be able to spend time with you.
I feel so lucky that you want to spend time with me too.
You are absolutely incredible!
Everything little thing about you I love;
Your smile, Your laugh,
Your not so straight fingers,
Your sense of humor,
You!
So these flowers are for you because:
1. You beat me at 20 questions
2. You are beautiful and
3. Just because!
I hope you have a great day!
Love, TJ

I still feel that same way about Tara. She still makes me so happy and I love being married to her and being able to see her everyday. Now that we are going to have a child those feeling are just growing more and more everyday.

I love you Tara! I love you Tara! I love you Tara!

Surprise, Surprise!!

Since mostly everyone who follows our blog is family and most of our family knows what this posting is all about, I figured I'd go ahead and put it on our blog. For all the rest of you, you're close enough friends that you should know the big news as well. Much to our surprise, we are having a baby who is due on May 4th, 2010! We haven't been married that long so we were a little surprised but it definately feels right and we're very excited! I should've known better- my mother has had 9 kids and 12 pregnancies and I have over 50 cousins on the Wengert side- we're a fertile bunch! :) haha jk. I have a really good job with excellent health insurance, I'll have 12 weeks of paid maternity leave, TJ only has a year and half left of school, I'm not in school- really, we are so blessed in sooo many ways, we really can't be too selfish for too long with just the two of us when we're in this type of situation! :) As far as morning sickness, it hasn't been too bad. I've still been able to work full time which I am grateful for and haven't thrown up at all. I just don't feel good most of the time and am exhausted ALL the time, especially after working 12, 13 hour shifts at the hospital. I'm also even more picky with food. Only certain things taste good and most things make me gag. For some reason, I've felt like it was a girl ever since we found out and I'm not sure why. If it's a girl we're thinking about naming her Emma Leigh Hendriksen. I've loved that name ever since I was younger and have always admired Emma Smith after reading the Work and the Glory when I was like 12. :) TJ texted my brothers and sisters and told them we were going to name him Chuckie if it was a boy and now all my family is calling the baby Chuckie!!! I pretend to get mad but I think it's actually pretty funny! All of our family is really excited and supportive, which makes us both so happy and thankful. Our baby is going to be sooo lucky to have the BEST grandparents on both sides and lots of really fun uncles and aunts and the 4 best cousins EVER (so far.... come on Ginger and Curtiss!!! Everyone else is doing it, you might as well! hahaha :) When I moved up to Utah last Sept. of 2008, who would've known how different my life would be a year later! I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who leads and guides us to where we need to be at exactly the right timing. Life is crazy and I love it!

OUR HAWAI'I TRIP!

So back when we first started dating, TJ would always talk about the trip he took to Hawaii with his buddies back in Aug. 2008. I've always wanted to go and he was (well, still is :) convinced that white pineapple is the greatest thing that ever existed! So later when we were engaged, Tanner, one of his friends that he grew up with that lives in Hawaii, offered for us to come visit anytime we wanted. We found way cheap tickets so combined with a free place to stay, food, and transportation, we couldn't resist!! We flew to San Franscisco and then on to Kona, Hawaii on Aug. 12th and stayed there until Aug. 18th. We LOVED it!!! I was absolutely astounded by the beauty of the beaches, the islands- everything! I had a companion on my mission who was from Oahu so I became very familiar with Hawaiian culture and food as we (she) taught hula classes and put on a ward Luau to try to find investigators. This trip only brought back all those memories and made so much more! We went to Hapuna Beach, Waipio Valley, Kua Bay Beach, and the Hualalai Volcano. Tanner, TJ's friend who we stayed with, his dad, brothers, aunt and 2 cousins came along with us so it was a fun group! Keaton, Tanner's youngest brother who is 12, hung out with us the whole time since school hadn't started yet- we had so much fun with him!! Waipio Valley was our favorite by far- it was breath-taking. I've never seen such beauty! It was totally in the jungle and we had to drive down super steep rough roads and then swim through a river to get to the beach- it was a pretty secluded black beach with beauiful waterfalls and crystal clear water! We appreciated the hospitality of the Sudbury family so much and had such a once-in-a lifetime experience!

We enjoyed going to the out door Hawaiian Markets. There were sooo many different types of fruits I've never even seen or heard of before like Soursap, Dragonfruit, Starfruit, Passion Fruit and tons of others I can't even remember!

We loved getting these HUGE snow cones- mine was a SMALL!! You could get one with ice cream or yougurt inside or with sweetened condensed milk on top too!!

The beautiful Kona Temple!

My 25th Birthday Party

So Tara was planning this surprise birthday party for me. They were all going to come up to our place so the boys could go swimming. I did not really mean to but I found out about the party. Luckily I did not get in too much trouble and everyone still came over. My wife is the best. Everyone also pitched in and Tara bought me a new iPod Touch. I really wanted one for awhile now so that Tara and I could both go running and use the Nike + iPod. Thank you everyone!! It is wonderful! Peyton just loves the water and will only want to jump off the edge into your arms. Even though the weather was not the best they still had an awesome time. I love being able to throw Peyton around. I think he likes it too. Easton and Cole do not like it that much at all. They are pretty scared. I had an awesome time hanging out with everyone and swimming with the boys. We later met up with some of Tara's mission companions/friends and went up Provo Canyon and roasted marshmallows. It felt SO good up in the canyon. We are going to go up later for a day hike. We will for sure post pictures. Thanks again Tara and everyone for a great birthday!!

Arizona Trip

So Tara and I finally were able to visit her family in Marana, Arizona last weekend. This is the first time that we visited without it being about us and the wedding. It was nice just to visit and spend more time with them rather than making wedding plans, driving around to take pictures or talk about flowers and decorations. Tara worked Tuesday night and as soon as she got home Wednesday morning we left. So she was able to sleep almost the entire time. I just listened to my iPod and set our new car to cruise control. We made good time and made it down there around 6:00 on Wednesday evening. As always, Tara's family had stuff going on. Her brother Dallin is on a mission and their family does this cool thing and makes a calendar with pictures of some sort of holiday for each month. So when we were down there we took pictures. I don't remember all of them but we did take a picture dressed for National Clown Month and in honor of National Flag Day. Here are some pictures:

Can you guess who is who?

Who is that weirdo? Hee hee!

USA USA USA!!!!

So Tanner was eating a torta and it had a jalapeƱo in it. He did not like it.

These are just 2 of the 12 that we took. Tara's mom even pulled some strings and was able to have a city firetruck come out to the house!! It was for National Fire Prevention Day. We were able to wear all the firefighter's clothes and we climbed all over the truck. It was pretty cool and fun. That Saturday Tara's siblings had a swim meet. I had never been to one before. We stayed for almost the whole thing. We were there for about 5 hours. All her brothers and sisters did pretty good. I wish I was able to swim better. There were some cousins and good friends that swam too. It was so fun to watch these 3, 4 or 5 year olds compete. I loved it when they would do a relay and when it was their turn to swim they would "dive" in. Their dive was more of a belly flop. But I guess I don't have much room to talk. Some of these tiny kids could probably out swim me. Needless to say the trip was awesome!! I love being down there and visiting. There is always something fun going on.

One Month Later....

So I know we haven't put up wedding pictures yet but I'm waiting for our AZ photographer to send them to me. We saw all of them on his website and we are pretty happy with them! It seems crazy to think we've been married over a month already! I tell TJ all the time that it seems like we've been married for months or at least in a year- in a good way, of course! I love being married and love having a best friend around all the time! I wish we could be together more- our schedules can be so crazy and totally opposite but it makes us enjoy the time that we do have together more. TJ always helps with cleaning, the dishes, organizing- I love it! He's so sweet to me and treats me amazing. I know we keep saying this but we really will post pics soon!

Finally Home

Tara and I got home Saturday night from a wonderful honeymoon! Our cruise was a lot of fun. It was great to be able to relax and just spend time together. I think we ate too much ice cream and frozen yogurt but it was SO good! We got back to Long Beach Friday morning so we decided to go to Disneyland and California Adventure. That was a blast! We even had fun going on the little kid rides! But don't worry we also went on the big kiddie rides. We will put some pictures up as soon as we get Internet access - hopefully this weekend. We are very excited to be home and to start our lives. We are both very busy as we are organizing our house. Right now Tara does not have a car so she is running, literally, everywhere. She puts whatever she needs in a backpack and takes off. Her dad loaned her a truck when she got home from her mission and now that her brother got home he took it home and use for awhile, so we are looking for a car to buy. We will put up some pictures very soon.

Mesa Arizona Temple
Well, it's Sunday night, both receptions are over, our house is a mess, we don't have any internet connection at our new place, and we're packing to get ready for the honeymoon cruise that we'll leave tomorrow morning at 5:30am. So needless to say, this is going to be a short post! I just wanted to put up one of our wedding pics since people keep asking about it. Everything went absolutely PERFECT and we really enjoyed it. We appreciate our families sooo much, who were so much help!

One Day Left

I can not believe it is almost here!! Yesterday Tara and I went to the Mesa Temple to take pictures. She looked amazing in her dress and with her hair done. She said I looked pretty good in my tux, I guess I will believe her. Life is so great right now! I feel like we have been waiting a long time and we are SO excited that it is finally here. Even though there is a lot to do everything is falling into place. Tara's parents have been working hard with their yard so we can have our reception and it looks great. I do not have time to post any pictures yet but we will for sure after everything is done.

Ginger and Curtiss' Wedding!!

So on Sat. April 25th, TJ's sister, Ginger married Curtiss Smith!! They got married in the new Draper Temple and even though it was pretty cold and rainy (I'm such a whimp when it comes to cold so it probably wasn't as cold as I thought it was) it was a beautiful day and the whole wedding was wonderful!! Ginger looked absolutely gorgeous and Curtiss was so happy! The only bad thing is right now they are on their honeymoon in Mexico.....swine flu!!! Ahh!! But anyways, it was so cute to watch them and almost felt like a practice round for us!! People kept making comments about our turn next and that we're "on deck"- haha. After they would get through the line with Ginger and Curtiss, they'd come up to us and so it felt like we had a mini-reception ourselves! These were the bridesmaids' dresses. It was a lot of fun to be bridesmaids with TJ's sisters. It was so great spending the day with TJ and his family. They all have welcomed me with such open arms and couldn't treat me any better or any more like family! Ruth, TJ's mom, says how she now has 6 daughters and that I'm not any different. To be in all the family pictures and introduced as family was so sweet of them and means so much to me. I am soooo blessed to have such wonderful in-laws and they've become no different to me than my own family! Next up....OUR WEDDING!!!

My turn!

So TJ posted like all of our kissing pictures! For some reason, it seems as though he likes those ones the best..... haha. I'll have to add some normal ones! So life is good!!! We are both getting so excited as our wedding day gets closer and closer!! We really are pretty close to being all done with wedding plans!!! Yay!! I never realized how much work and effort it is to get married- I totally understand the whole elope to Las Vegas idea! We've been tempted a few times....haha jk. Our moms have been so wonderful at helping and suppoting us in all that we do. We're really grateful for both of them and the rest of our families. Recently, my little brother Dallin, went into the MTC so the fam drove up here for a few days. We had a big Wengert/Hendriksen Family dinner- it went sooo well and I absolutely LOVED having all of my family together!! This past weekend was great too. Besides General Conference (which was wonderful!) the Hendriksen family threw Ginger (TJ's sister who is getting married the end of April!) and I a bridal shower! It was a lot of fun and I appreciate all of them so much. They are so good to me and I love them as much as my own family! We also took another trip down to visit my family in Arizona for Dallin's farewell. We went to my younger brother and sister's huge piano recital as well as the Mesa temple. My youngest sibling, Tanner, LOVES TJ!!! He's a very big 7 year old but always wants to sit on TJ's lap- poor guy. When he sits on you your legs start to go numb and you loose sensation and perfusion to your toes so it's a little risky. :) He's the sweetest little boy though and I love the kid so much! My little sisters also adore him. Me too!

We also had the chance to babysit our nephews a few weekends ago! I'm the oldest of a bunch so I've always known I'm going to be an aunt someday but not for a long time. I think one of the reasons why I'm even marrying TJ in the first place is just so I can be Aunt Tara!!! :) haha. My 3 nephews are Easton who's 5, Cole, 3, and Peyton, who is......18 months, I think? Hmm...I'm not proving myself to be a very good aunt if I don't even know their exact ages! Their mom, TJ's sister, Dezi, is 7 months pregnant with little boy #4!!! They are the cutest kids and make us laugh sooo much! They made us an April Fool's Day card that was taped shut so we couldn't open it. They fell on the floor laughing when we tried to open it! My favorite thing is when they randomly call our cell phones to say hi or leave a message. :) It takes an act of congress to get them to all smile and look at the camera at the same time but I tried to get some of them! We made homemade pizzas with them.

TJ and I also had fun registering at Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond! Well, mostly it was me telling TJ what to register for - I let him hold the scanner and push the button at least! :) He's so much fun to be around and makes everything in life so embarrasing, I mean enjoyable!!! Haha jk T!

Update

Well it's been awhile since we have posted anything. Nothing big has happened. The wedding plans are coming right along. My sister is getting married on April 25th so Tara and I decided to finish all the plans before then. We are making good progress. We just took our engagement pictures. Once we get them we will for sure post some.

We just got back from visiting Tara's family in Marana for a couple of days. Dallin, her brother, spoke in church because he is leaving on a mission on April 1st. It was SO much fun because a lot of her family was there. We, as always, had a great time. Dallin did a great job and we are very excited for him because we know he is going to love it. The weather was so nice it was some what dissappointing coming back to Utah where it was snowing. I'm sure it will warm up soon . . . . if it doesn't we are moving down to Marana!!!

Hopefully this weekend we will post some engagement pictures . . . . .

Ha ha! Thanks Amy

So one of our first dates we doubled with Amy. After we ate at his real good pizza place downtown called Settobello, I highly recommend it, we were walking to Temple Square. I guess Amy was real excited that we were holding hands so she recorded it. Here it is:

So Many People . . . .

There were SO many people that seemed to have a part of us meeting but there are two people that stand out right now.

First, Mandie, my sister was nice enough to think of me when she met someone as beautiful and amazing as Tara. In the past, Mandie has called me saying, "I just met your wife! This girl is so cool! I think you guys will get along real well!" Sometimes they were girls from work, school or wherever, but when she called to tell me that she wanted me to meet Tara, she was very calm and did not seem as excited as in the past. She was very different about it and I think she knew there was something different this time. I was a little surprised how she told me, so from the beginning I was excited to meet Tara.

Second, Amy Mann (who is from Tara's mission) had a big part as well. That first Saturday when we met, I HAD to figure out a way to talk to her more and see her again. The next day, Sunday, Mandie was having dinner at her house. I invited Tara which I really tried to make it clear that I REALLY wanted her to come but she later told me that she thought I was just being nice. As soon as Mandie and Tara started to drive back home to Provo from the Real Salt Lake game, I sent Mandie a text telling her to invite Tara and to make sure she came. When dinner started I was waiting and waiting and waiting for Tara to come but it seemed like she was not going to come. She finally came because Amy came with her. I think if Tara had not come that night I would have thought that she was not that interested and who knows what would have happened?!

So thank you Mandie and Amy!!

Sorry, I'm still learning...

So I'm trying to figure all this blogging stuff out- sorry if it looks kinda funny! I'm still trying to have the listings of all our friends on the sides so we can just click right to their blogs- hmmm..... be patient with me everyone. I work night shift at the hospital from 6pm to 6am and TJ started working from 6:30am to 3pm so our schedules could not be more opposite! I'll have to wait until he's around so that he can help me. He's much better at the computer stuff! One other side note, my brother, Elder Dallin Wengert, got his mission call yesterday to...... Iowa Des Moines Mission, spanish speaking! I was way excited because Iowa touches Wisconsin, the greatest mission in the whole world! Oh, yes, besides Mexico Culiacan Mission, of course dearest. He reports to the MTC April 1st so he will miss the wedding and my other brother, Elder Devin Wengert who is serving in the Texas Houston South Mission, by just a month and a half! But with nine kids, what can you expect? I just tell my mom she had too many :) She could have stopped with the first one when perfection was reached- haha, just kidding!

Mandie's Birthday Dinner

For Mandie's birthday, we ate at Tucano's, a Brazillian Restaurant that is sooo delicious! Waiters come around and slice all different types of meats that are soooo good right onto your plate. They also have my very favorite- grilled pineapple that cooked with brown sugar, ohh! I love it! Okay, for the more important reason for this posting, sorry I get distracted with food, was that it was Mandie's birthday! Mandie is TJ's sister, the nurse that I work with and she's the one that set us up. We've decided as payment we're going to give her our first born child. She's already decided to name him Dimitri (she went on her mission to Greece). It's okay, we'll have more. Also, in the picture, the blonde is my best friend, Amy, who's from my mission in Wisconsin but she now goes to school here at BYU. She also can take some credit for us because she convinced me and went with me to Mandie's house for a Sunday dinner after the first time TJ and I met. I wasn't going to go but I did....and look what happened!
